Did anyone else have an inadequate lawyer? You can call as many firms as you like and you will hear the same thing, “We win a lot of cases”, “I have been doing this a long time”…blah blah blah. It’s like being in a Peanuts cartoon after the fifth call, all I hear is “womp womp womp womp”…know what I’m saying?!
They can talk a good game, but at the end of the divorce…when both have signed on the dotted line and you feel as though the large semi that you had been dragged behind for the past year has suddenly come to an abrupt stop…you have this lingering feeling that your lawyer was really unprepared, overpriced and just plain SUCKED.
Did you walk away thinking “I should have hired my ex’s lawyer! He/She won everything!” or “I could have done a better job representing myself AND saved thousands of dollars!”??
It seems to me that the only real difference between the layperson and a lawyer is the fact that we don’t walk into a room looking arrogant and pompous. All Joe Shmoe needs is a quick trip to the law library and a few searches on Google on how to prepare a case and he’s saved himself the equivalent to a quick trip to Vegas!
I don’t know about you, but I vote for Vegas!
